Language Arts- This past week we read "Nail Soup", "The Real Story of Stone Soup", and "Healthful Food Choices". Our essential question was, What Choices are good for us? We concentrated on vocabulary, point of view, and asking and answering questions. This coming week we will be continuing with these same skills and adding contractions with not, plurals, and prefixes into the mix. The Genre will be realistic fiction, where the stories we read are fiction, but could have really taken place. Our stories are called, "The Impossible Pet Show", "The Talented Clementine" and Clementine and the Family Meeting".
This week, a permission form came home for a field trip to the Lorain County Metro Parks. We will spend the morning observing the maple sugaring process outdoors and end with eating our packed lunches at the Carlisle Reservation. The cost is $2.00 per student. Please return the permission form and money by Wednesday, February 22nd. If you would like to chaperone, please indicate that on the form and I will notify you at the end of this week. If you are selected please send in an additional $2.00. Checks can be made out to Erieview Elementary. Each 3rd grade class is going on a different day.
