Language Arts- Essential Question this past week- Why do people immigrate to new places?
This week we are reading the stories, "Sailing To American", " The Castle on Hester Street" and "Next Stop, America". This week we worked on similes and singular and plural nouns. We also discussed the theme of the stories and worked on making predictions and inferences while we read.
Writing- We have started writing a scary story this week. Kids were able to choose a setting, characters and a problem from our Halloween writing table.
Math-
This week In math we will learn the final multiplication and division strategy, using a multiplication table.
Please practice math facts nightly.
Science- We are beginning to learn about matter and will explore the different states.
November 7th- No School, Teacher Inservice. November 10th-Pizza Box Night November 15th- Library Field Trip November 23rd-25th-Thanksgiving break.
