Language Arts
- This past week our stories were fairy tales.  This week we focused on point of view where we compared the perspective that the author has in the story, to their own.  We also practiced summarizing, root words, compound words, and singular and plural nouns.

We will be taking a detour from our reading program. For this week will be working out of our Storyworks magazine. We will continue working on third grade reading skills during this time.

Writing-We are working on an opinion piece based on the story, "Hey Little Ant". Kids have to give their opinion about whether or not the boy in the story should squish the ant.
Over the next week we will be working on Topic 14- Time and measurement. We will not be testing over this topic at this time because of the state tests that are approaching.l

Social Studies- We will be learning about spending and saving.

This week we will beginning ELA State testing.  The tests will be on Monday and Wednesday.
April 11th and 12th will be the math portion of the tests.

Please make sure that your child gets to bed on time, eats a healthy breakfast, and know that the test is important and to try their best.
They may bring mints, (not gum) to have during the test.
