Language Arts- This coming week we will read the stories, "Gray Wolf! Red Fox!", Amazing Wildlife of the Mojave", and Little Half Chick. Each of these stories are Realistic Fiction. We will be comparing and contrasting and using sentence clues to figure out meanings of vocabulary words. We will also be working on Main and Helping verbs.
Math-This week we wrapped up Topic 10 and took a quiz. Quizzes will be coming home in their homework folders on Friday. Please make sure that your child is emptying their folder each weekend. Some of the folders are getting quite full.
This week we began to learn about fractions. We will continue this into next week.
Social Studies- This week we continued to learn about how our government works. We made a phone call to the White House to ask the President what inspired him to be the president. We were directed to email him because they didn't have the answer, but the kids sure got a kick out of them actually answering the call.
Next week we will celebrate Read Across America Week with a March Madness-style bracket of 16 top books. We are looking forward to the following dress days as well:
Monday- Crazy Sock
Tuesday (early release day)- Crazy Hair
Wednesday- Mismatch
Thursday- Pajama
Friday-Tie Dye
Please check Mrs. Isaly-John's email for parent/teacher conference sign ups. These spring conferences are optional and can be done by phone or Zoom.
Reminder that we have an early release day on Tues. March 2nd . Your student will be dismissed at noon. They will have the opportunity to pack their lunch on this day or choose from one lunch item: Pizza bagels, fruit, vegetable, cheese stick or yogurt and milk.
