Language Arts- This past week we read "Nail Soup", "The Real Story of Stone Soup", and "Healthful Food Choices".  Our essential question was, What Choices are good for us?  We concentrated on vocabulary, point of view, and asking and answering questions. This coming week we will be continuing with these same skills and adding contractions with not, plurals, and prefixes into the mix.  The Genre will be realistic fiction, where the stories we read are fiction, but could have really taken place. Our stories are called, "The Impossible Pet Show", "The Talented Clementine" and Clementine and the Family Meeting".

Math- This week we are wrapping up Fluently adding and subtracting to 1,000. The worksheet that I sent for homework yesterday is due on Monday and our test will be on Monday as well. For our test we are reviewing today and they will be bringing home the review we used to study from. Next week we will be working on multiplication again with multiply by multiples on 10. This is a very short topic and we will be taking a quiz, rather than a test, on the 23rd. After that we will move onto topic 12, Fractions. and come back to 11 later in the year.

Social Studies-Currently we are learning about how America runs.

Writing- We are working on opinion pieces

-There is no school this Friday, February 18th for a teacher in-service.

-There is no School Monday, February 21st for President's Day.
