Language Arts- Essential Question this past week- What makes different animals unique? We looked at the unique features that certain animals have that make them special to this world. We talked about visualizing while we are reading stories to help make the story come alive. The kids enjoyed reading the story, Martina The Beautiful Cockroach and hearing how she found a husband. We had a comparative play to go along with the story that I sent home over the weekend. With this play, kids are given the opportunity to earn some extra credit by acting out a part, or the whole play over a Flipgrid. The flip grid link is located in Google Classroom under the Thursday, December 2nd folder. They can be as creative as they would like, have family members help, use props, change voices. Have fun with it! This is an optional project.
We also worked on action verbs and locating them in sentences.
Math-
This Tuesday we will take a test over Topic 6, Area. This test will be given via paper and pencil instead of the regular online version.
We will begin Topic 7 which is over representing and Interpreting Data with the use of Pictographs and Bar Graphs.
