Welcome Back!  This week...

Reading- We will be working out of a Storyworks magazine this week. We will be reading a poem about the New Year and we will also be reading about Gummy Bears and if they are good for teeth. 

Math-we will begin this week with reviewing addition and subtraction with regrouping in preparation for Topic 8. Topic 8 deals with regrouping, story problems, and rounding. 

Science-We are going to be beginning a science unit on rocks this week. 

Writing-We will be working on a narrative piece on what snowmen do at night. We will also be writing about our New Year goals. 

Next week we will be taking MAPS assessments on Monday and Tuesday morning. 

Just a reminder, Next Friday, January 14th is early dismissal for students. Kids still eat lunch at school and will go home their usual way at noon. Monday, January 17th there is no school in observation on MLK day.
