Language Arts- This past week we read "Nail Soup", "The Real Story of Stone Soup", and "Healthful Food Choices".  Our essential question was, What Choices are good for us?  We concentrated on vocabulary, point of view, and asking and answering questions. This week we will be continuing with these same skills and adding contractions with not, plurals, and prefixes into the mix.  The Genre will be realistic fiction, where the stories we read are fiction, but could have really taken place. Our stories are called, "The Impossible Pet Show", "The Talented Clementine" and Clementine and the Family Meeting".

Math- This week and the past week we have been working on Fractions within topic 12.  We are currently focusing on placing fractions on a number line and will be moving into plotting them on a number line.  We will be finishing up this topic at the end of next week and taking a test over topic 12 on Thursday, February 25th.

Social Studies-Currently we are learning about the three branches of the government. Next week we will be learning about Producers and Consumers.

Writing- We will be writing an opinion piece about an activity they thing others should try. This will be continuing into next week.
