Language Arts- Last week our Essential question was, How can one person change the way you think? We read 2 stories that were historical fiction and talked about how one person can inspire us to do better. We read about a little girl that didn't want to learn to read until she met Abe Lincoln and the a boy that was not aloud in the library, because of his race, until a librarian snuck him in. We worked on cause and effect, idioms, and visualizing the stories. We also have been working on present-tense verbs and writing an opinion letter.
This week our Essential Question is, What do we know about Earth and its neighbors? This week we are reading 2 stories and will answer this essential question. We are also focusing on summarizing, main and key details, and context clues within a text.
