What a short week!  Since we had only a 2 day week I shifted our plans until this coming week. Spelling week 2 test will be this Thursday. The worksheet that went along with it will be due this week as well. If your child turned them in early, that is okay.  We will be writing the words in our planner on Monday.
Reading-This past week we read about the Hindenburg in our Storyworks Magazine.  Storyworks is a magazine that we get throughout the year that has a variety or articles to explore. We read the story together, completed a closer reading on it, and then the took a review quiz over it.
Math- We worked on division strategies and wrapped up our first topic.  Our test over this topic will be Tuesday.  I assigned the review worksheet for homework over the weekend, but it is not due until Tuesday.  I wanted to give them a head start for preparing for the test.  Our math tests this year will be online and can be accessed through their Powerschool account.  I will send home scores results after the test has been graded.  The score that is online will not match up with their final score on the test.  Although the test is given online, I score them individually and may have different point values per question.  This year if they score a D or below on a Math test, they will be able to correct it for extra points.
Friday folders came home on Friday.  Please make sure that you look over the contents of the folder each week and have your child return it to school on the following school day.
