Food Drive going until Wednesday this week!!!

Language Arts
This week's story focused on the essential question, How can people help animals survive? The stories were Expository Texts which are non-fiction, informative texts. We focused on the following...
-Strategy: reread for understanding
-Skill:Author's Point of View compared to our point of view
-Building vocabulary
-Spelling-Words with 3-letter blends

When reading with your children ask them what the Author's point of view is...(prompt them by asking what they feel the author's opinion is on the topic)

Math- We finished up topic 4 and took our test on Tuesday.  We took the test online and I am waiting on all absent kids to finish up on the test before completing the final score.  The scores will be sent home later this week. As always children will have the opportunity to earn extra points if they score below a C- on the test.  Taking the test online is where our district is heading and will help the kids become more comfortable with the online testing process.  We have been practicing this throughout the year via practice tests and daily with our quick checks.
We began Topic 5 on Wednesday, we are working with the multiplication chart and reviewing strategies for multiplication.  Our test will be before Thanksgiving break.

              Please practice math facts nightly.
