Language Arts- This week's story focused on the essential question, What can traditions teach you about cultures. We read the stories, "Room to Grow", "Gary The Dreamer", and "Sharing Polkas and Pitas". The stories were Narrative nonfiction and told the true story of a person's life. We focused on asking and answering questions and sequencing. We also learned about subjects and predicates and final e in words.
Math- We finished up topic 2 and took our test on Thursday. Next week we will begin topic 3 and continue to learn our multiplication facts as well as learn about the associate property and distributive property of multiplication.

Social Studies- This week we finished up timelines on Avon Lake and created ones of ourselves. On October 30th we will be taking a field trip to The Folgers House to learn more about Avon Lake history.

PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCE SIGN-UP
Our sign up for Erieview Parent-Teacher Conferences is online. Go to http://ptcfast.com/schools/Erieview_Elementary_School and you will be able to sign up for a time slot for one or all of your children that attend Erieview (4th grade parents please schedule with homeroom teacher). The website is open for live signup. If you have questions about the sign up process, please do not hesitate to contact your child's teacher. If you do not have internet access, please send a note to your child’s teacher and a time will be scheduled for you. Our Fall Conferences are October 11(eve) and 12(day) Please remember the students will not have school on October 12+13th.
If these dates do not work for you, please let me know. We can make arrangements to meet before school or during specials. I am typically at school by 8:00 each day.
