Reading- We will be back in our Wonders reading books this week, though we will not be taking our weekly test because of MAPS testing this week and our early dismissal on Friday. This week our Essential Question is, What do we know about Earth and its neighbors? This week we are reading 2 stories and will answer this essential question.  We are also focusing on summarizing, main and key details, and context clues within a text.  

Math-We will be in our math books all week working on topic 8: regrouping, story problems, and rounding. 

Science-We have begun our unit on Rocks and Minerals. We will be looking at  different types of rocks and minerals and we will be focusing on their physical properties.  

Writing-We will be writing a narrative piece on what snowmen do at night. 

This week we will be taking MAPS assessments on Wednesday and Thursday morning after specials. 

Reminder-Friday, January 13th is early dismissal for students. Kids still eat lunch at school and will go home their usual way at noon. Monday, January 16th there is no school in observation on MLK day.
