Language Arts- This week's story focused on the essential question, How can people help animals survive? The stories were Expository Texts which are non-fiction, informative texts. We focused on the following...
-Strategy: Reread for understanding
-Skill: Author's Point of View compared to our point of view
-Building vocabulary
When reading with your children ask them what the Author's point of view is...(prompt them by asking what they feel the author's opinion is on the topic).
Math-
We have been working on finding the area of shapes. We will be reviewing this skill Monday and Tuesday of this week and then taking Topic 6 test on Wednesday. Their review page that we will use to study from will be coming home on Tuesday so they can study off of it.Classroom News
It's been a crazy couple weeks with Thanksgiving, the extra day for administration meetings and then a snow day. With the increase of absences this time of year, I will be having more assignments listed in their Google Classroom. That way, if your child is out and begins to feel better during the day, they can begin to work on their missing assignments at home just by logging into their Google Classroom accounts. This is something we have been practicing since the beginning of school so they should all know how to navigate the site.
