Language ArtsEssential Question this week How do people make government work?

The past two weeks we read the stories, "Every Vote Counts", and " Vote!".  This week we worked on author's point of view, prefixes, and vocabulary.  We also worked on our narrative writing piece about Halloween.

These stories meshed nicely with our Social Studies mini unit on government and how voting works. The students were so very engaged in how the whole voting process works. They all asked such thoughtful questions on the subject and kept their personal opinions about the candidates for Presidency respectfully private.

Math-We have been learning about how division works and working with dividing numbers by using multiplication to help us.  Example- what times 4 equals 28. This is a short topic and our test over topic 4 will be Tuesday.  Though we do not have formal homework this year, I encourage each student to practice their math facts throughout the week to become more fluent with them.

Report cards will be available electronically Monday.
