💁Language Arts-   This week's story focused on the essential question, How can problem solving lead to new ideas?  We read the stories, "Mary Andresen’s Great Invention", “Lighting the World”, and "All Aboard".  The stories were biographies and told the true story of a person's life. We discussed metaphors, subjects and predicates and introduced cause and effect

ⓧMath- We are working on topic 3 and continuing to learn our multiplication facts as well as learn about the associate property of multiplication.  Next week we will continue to learn about multiplying other factors and introduce the associate property.    Please note that topic 2 test came home Friday.

🗺Social Studies- We have begun our unit on history/geography. We will be taking a look at maps and where Avon Lake is. 

Important Dates...

📖Third Grade testing- Ohio testing will be this week 

Testing will be Tuesday and Wednesday this week.  Please make sure that your child gets plenty of sleep this week and eats a healthy breakfast.  Kids can bring mints to eat during the test.

🐦Friday- We will end next week with a P.E. field trip. Next Friday, Mr. Dick will take all 3rd grade Physical Education classes on a walk to Veteran's Memorial Park to bird watch with the binoculars he was awarded through the Avon Lake City School Foundation educator grants. Third grade students will leave Erieview at 1:00 and return by 3:00 (weather permitting). Although we cannot have any parent volunteers, he will be assisted by paraprofessional teachers in our building and Mrs. Hamker. 

👻Halloween 👻

Our Halloween party will be on Friday, October 30th. This year there will not be a parade, but a celebration in our classroom.
