Language Arts- This past week we worked on visualizing, sequencing, and context clues within sentences. We also took a reading test together this week. We read two stories together. The first story we completed the questions together, the second story the children completed the questions independently. We also took another vocabulary quiz. The new words have been sent home as well as the skills for the week. They are located in their Friday Home Folders.

Writing-  This week we watched a video clip from Harry Potter where he takes a ride on a mythical creature, soaring through the sky. We spoke about the adventure Harry Potter took and talked about what their adventure may look like. We then brainstormed our journals and worked on our topic sentences.

Math- We took our test over Topic 1. This was taken on the Chromebook and they used scratch paper to aid them. I also put notes on the board for them to help with the questions. The scratch paper will be returned this week with their scores on them. If they received a low score, they will be given a blank test with an opportunity to improve their scores.

Science- We have been learning about Matter the past couple weeks. This past week we made clouds as we trapped gas in a cup. Some of the kids took the cups home to try. We will continue Matter this week.
