Language Arts- This week we read poems that talked about how we are inspired by others.  We discussed the parts of a poem and also the theme of each poem. We also focused on metaphors and discussing figurative language. 

Writing-We are working on a group piece. Each pair has been assigned an African American that played an important role in history. Kids are researching their person and creating a google slide show to present to the class next week. 

Math- This week we will be finishing up with topic 11 in math and will be taking our test on Tuesday. This topic test will be given via paper/pencil instead of on the chromebook since it will require a lot of scratch paper.  On next topic, Topic 12 will be on fractions. We have introduced this concept already and will continue through March. 

Social Studies- We are beginning our topic on Economics. We will be working on this throughout the 3rd quarter.
