Hello Parents!

Activities:

On Monday, May 20th, we will have an end of the year celebration at ALPS. The entire third grade will leave Erieview at 11:00 and walk to ALPS. Students must pack their lunch and bring a water bottle. Sunscreen is encouraged. We will provide popsicles. Parents and loved ones are encouraged to stop by and say, hello! We will leave the park to walk back to Erieview around 1:00. There is no rescheduling for inclement weather. 


Volunteer Breakfast- Please join us for a morning of parent appreciation! (RSVP if you can)
     -Tuesday, May 7th at 9:00 AM

Choir Concert 
     -Wednesday, May 8th
     -Choir members arrive at 6:00, and perform at 6:30

Talent Show
     -Tryout forms and dates coming home next week
     - 90 second acts, please
     - If using music, must be able to be found on iTunes
     - June 4th, Last day of school at 9:00AM




Academics:

Spelling- Homework and Spelling tests have resumed on Thursdays

Writing Homework- The final writing homework paragraph packet is due Friday, May 10th 

Language Arts- We will be beginning to read Charlie ans the Chocolate Factory.  Each day we will be reading 2 chapters in class and completing assignments based on the story.  We will be learning about figurative language and comparing the story to Fantastic Mr. Fox, which was written by the same author, Roald Dahl.

Math-  we will be wrapping up math, topic 13, and taking a test over it on Tuesday.  

Social Studies Junior Achievement- Our class has volunteers from Shurtech coming 5 times before the end of the school year to teach us about economics. Ask your child how to write a check, why we write checks, and what "invisible money" is. :)
