Language Arts-  This week's story focused on the essential question, How can problem solving lead to new ideas?  We read the stories, "Mary Andresen’s Great Invention", “Lighting the World”, and "All Aboard".  The stories were biographies and told the true story of a person's life. We discussed metaphors, subjects and predicates and introduced cause and effect

Math- We are working on topic 3 and continuing to learn our multiplication facts as well as learn about the associate property of multiplication.  Next week we will continue to learn about multiplying other factors and introduce the associate property.  Our test over topic 3 will not be until October 9^th.  Please note that topic 2 test came home Friday.
              Please practice math facts nightly.

Social Studies- We are learning a lot about Avon Lake and where it is in the world.  We will be using maps to help us with this concept.  Tomorrow we will be taking a field trip to The Peter Miller House, Railway Car and Cemetery to learn more about Avon Lake history.

Conferences will take place on October 10th and 11th. Please remember the students will not have school on October 11th & 12th.

If these dates do not work for you, please let me know.  We can make arrangements to meet before school or during specials.  I am typically at school by 8:00 each day. 

Important Dates...

Third Grade testing- Ohio testing will be the week of October 22nd.  Please make sure that your children are well resting, eat a healthy breakfast and come to school on those days.

Please look at your child's planner each night.  Also, please be sure to look through your child's folder each Friday when we send home papers from that week.
