Welcome to our class blog!  Throughout the year I will be updating our blog with important information that you and your child may need.  Please sign-up to follow our blog on the left so you get a notice when it has been updated,  I look forward to a wonderful year with your children!  

Language Arts- We have begun our Wonders reading program.  The program begins with  short stories that emphasize different text features and skills that third graders will see throughout the year.  We have discussed themes, genres, dictionary and thesaurus features and much more.  Next week we will begin our first story.  We will have weekly tests that will be skilled based rather than about actual details of the story.  Spelling will also begin next week.  I will be sending home words on Friday's on their homework papers...these papers will be due back on Thursday the following week, the same day as the test.  

Writing-  Each Monday we will be journaling about our weekend. We will also be writing through the week with our Wonders program.

Math- We have begun topic 1- Understanding Multiplication and Division.  We have been practicing different strategies to solve multiplication problems.
