Happy May!
We don't have too many days left, but this is going to be a busy month.
Tomorrow we will have an assembly for Best Effort and choir and we will also be going to the book fair. Our time is at 11:20-11:40.
Tuesday we will be taking our ELA Maps test. Please make sure your kids get to bed on time and eat a healthy breakfast.
Language Arts-This week we will be reading stories that answer the essential question, "What do good citizens do? Our spelling words this week have inflectional endings y to i. In grammar we are working on possessive pronouns and in writing we will be working on an opinion piece. Next week we will be getting away from the text and begin reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We will be working on this for the remainder of the school year as well as reading Fantastic Mr. Fox. Both stories are written by Roald Dahl so we will be comparing his writing style and the figurative language within the text.
Math- Monday we will be beginning topic 16, Perimeter problems. This is our last 3rd grade topic in our math books and will extend about 2 weeks. After this topic we will be working on the section in our books called, stepping up to 4th grade.
