This week we took our state tests for ELA. Everything went very smoothly. We also had the Turkey trot this week and began our food drive. If possible please send in non-perishable food to donate through the 18th. All food donations will be given to CRS to help stock their shelves for the upcoming holidays.
Language Arts- Essential Question this week- How do people make government work?
This week we are reading the stories, "Every Vote Counts", " Vote!" and "A Plan for the People". This week we worked on author's point of view, prefixes, special nouns and writing an opinion piece about why or why not it is important for every person to vote while siting evidence from our story. This week we also worked on completing our Narrative writing piece that focuses on a time we learned a lesson.
Math- This week we wrapped up Topic 5, fluently multiply and divide within 100. Next week we will be beginning Topic 6, Connect Area to Multiplication and Addition. We will be answering the question, How can area be measured and found? Our vocabulary for this topic is area, unit square, square unit, and estimate.
