This past week we read The Legend of the Persian Carpet.  We learned about what a legend is and studied story elements that made up our story.  This was a fun story for our class and we enjoyed reading it.  This week and next week we will be reading a non-fiction story about Wooly Mammoths. There is a lot of information so we will be taking our time on this story.  There will not be a test until next week over this story. 

In math we will be wrapping up topic 2 with a review Monday and then Tuesday we will be taking our topic 2 test.  I sent home the review homework over the weekend if you wanted to get a head start.  it is not due until Tuesday though. We will be beginning Topic 3 this week on other multiplication facts as well as the distributive property on multiplication.  I have a fun activity for this lesson to help the children learn it.  

We will also be working on Adjectives this week and writing.  If you haven't signed up for a conference yet, please be sure to do so.
