Language Arts- Essential Question this past week- Why do people immigrate to new places?
This week we are reading the stories, "Sailing To American", " The Castle on Hester Street" and "Next Stop, America". This week we will be working on similes and singular and plural nouns. We will also be discussing the theme of the stories and work on making predictions and inferences while we are reading.

Math- This week we were working on finishing up Topic 4. Our test will be on Wednesday this week. We will review on Tuesday during class and take the test Wednesday morning.
HOMEWORK THIS WEEK- There will be no math homework on Wednesday night and I will be delaying the spelling test this week until Friday as a result of no school Monday and Halloween on Wednesday.

A few more things...
Please have your children wear their Halloween costumes to school Wednesday. They may choose to bring a change of clothes so they don't have to sit in them all day long. Our Halloween parade will be in the morning, but the party will not be until the afternoon.
