Dear Parents,
Our first three days of school were filled with trying to establish routines and getting to know your children. In math we review concepts learned in second grade and took our first multiplication test. These test will be given throughout the year and are used solely to monitor growth and will not count as points on their report card. We completed a lot of getting to know you writing activities and they were given their first spelling list. In their homework folders they have their week 1 spelling list along with their spelling menu. The menu is where they get their spelling homework ideas for the week. Your children will choose one item on the list to complete for homework to be turned in by next Thursday. Both of these items can be found on this blog, in case they are lost. Next week we will be reading our first reading story, taking our first spelling test on Thursday, and beginning to learn about multiplication. We will also be beginning social studies and writing skills. I am working on getting their log-ons for their math program so that they are able to access the text on-line as well as games that have to do with the current unit we are on. Many on you have asked me for log-on information for grade book wizard. If you have lost your password/login information please send me an email and I will get it to you. There will not be any updates for a couple weeks since we are just beginning to get into the curriculum. Have a wonderful weekend.
